- Leverage social media platforms that are relevant to your niche.
- Practice basic SEO strategies such as keyword placement and header tags, and focus on user intent and internal/external links.
Why Making Your Website More Visible on Google Is Essential?
Making your website more visible on Google is essential for any online business looking to increase its online presence. There are three advantages associated with this, such as:
1 – Increased Traffic
The more people can find your site’s web pages online, the more traffic you will traffic you’ll generate, which can translate into increased sales or conversions.
2 – Improved Credibility
Whenever someone searches for a particular topic, your site constantly pops up on the first results. This makes your website appear more credible and trustworthy.
3 – Better User Experience
Google ranks websites based on the quality of their content and user experience. It’s not like their robots can read the content on your website. But they can tell if the site is well-optimized and user-friendly. Also, Google checks user bounce rate, retention time, and clickthrough rate to determine how well people engage with your content.
8 Ways to Make Your Website More Visible
Now that you know why making your website more visible is essential. Here are eight ways to achieve that:
1 – Conduct an SEO Audit
If you have existing content and your site isn’t ranking well, conducting an SEO audit can help you identify areas that need improvement.
For example, your content may be poorly optimized for certain keywords, or your site’s internal linking structure needs improvement.
You have a few SEO tools to help you with this, such as:
- Ahrefs
- SemRush
- Surfer SEO
My favorite is Surfer SEO. It comes with a feature to audit each page of your website individually, and they provide clear recommendations of the:
- Relevant keywords you should include in your content
- If you need more word count to compete with similar pages
- The number of images you should include on your page
- Internal links you should add to other relevant pages on your site
Also, Surfer SEO provides a score based on well optimized your page is for a particular keyword. You want to follow their suggestions to increase this score and your chances of ranking higher on Google search results.
Most people don’t realize that their old content isn’t dead but needs some tweaking to rank higher on Google. Of course, if you have a magazine or news website, you’re better off writing fresh content regularly.
2 – Improve Your Site’s Loading Time
Studies have shown that a website’s loading time should be no more than 2 seconds. Your bounce rate increases 32% if the page load time increases from 1 second to 3 seconds.
In other words, you want a website to load within 3 seconds; otherwise, most people will leave.
You have several websites where you can test your site’s loading time, such as Pingdom, GTMetrix, and Google Page Speed Insights.
Anyway, you have some ways to improve your site’s loading time:
- Web Host Provider: Most people start with the cheapest hosting options. But often, these companies provide slower loading times. So, it doesn’t matter all the rest of your hosting company is garbage. I suggest looking into web hosting providers prioritizing speed and uptime, like WPX Hosting or Kinsta.
- Website Design: If you’re using WordPress or another content management system, use a fast and lightweight theme. My favorite WP themes are Kadence, Astra, and GeneratePress.
- Image Optimization: Images can greatly slow down your site, so make sure to compress them using tools like TinyPNG or ShortPixel before uploading them to your website. You can also install WordPress plugins like Smush or Imaginify to optimize your images automatically.
- Caching Plugin: Caching plugins like W3 Total Cache and WP Rocket can improve your website’s loading time by reducing server response time and minifying Javascript, CSS, and HTML files.
By improving your site’s loading time, you better your overall metrics, such as bounce rate and page views. This helps your website’s ranking on Google search results.
3 – Mountains Of Content
Gone are the days when you could build a website with only a few pages and expect it to rank well on Google. Also known as “thin content” niche sites. I remember people who used to have hundreds of small niche sites with only a few pages.
As Google evolved, so did its algorithms. Nowadays, they prioritize websites that offer a wealth of information on a specific topic and look legit. In other words, sites that seem to have someone or a team behind the screen.
For this reason, don’t expect to have a website receiving hundreds or thousands of visitors with only a few blog posts. It simply won’t happen.
To increase your chances of ranking on Google, you need to create high-quality content on a particular niche.
You need to find several mechanisms to help you pump out high-quality content consistently.
Here’s what I suggest:
- Content Calendar: Have a clear plan for your content creation, including topics, keywords, and publishing dates.
- AI Writer Tools: You can use AI tools like Jasper AI or Scalenut to help generate content faster without hiring a content writer.
- Team of Writers: If you have the budget, consider hiring a team of writers specialized in your niche to help with content creation.
You also want to produce content that is related to a specific niche. This will help Google see you as a topical authority on the subject. For this reason, they’ll rank your website higher for related search queries in that niche.
So, don’t write ten posts about “Keto diet” and then switch to writing about “Interior Design” just because you think it’s trendy.
4 – Optimize For Mobile Devices
One of the most important ways to make your website more visible is to optimize it for mobile devices. This means using a responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and resolutions. If you’re using WordPress, most themes nowadays are responsive by default but double-checking is always a good idea.
You can use Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test to see how your website looks on different devices.
If you have a mobile or a tablet at hand, try to browse your website from it and see how it looks. For instance, I use the Kadence WP for my blog, which is a mobile-friendly theme.
Although it looked great on my desktop, I noticed some issues when browsing from my mobile, like the menu was hard to navigate, and the links on the footer section looked awkward.
Sometimes, even with a responsive design, some elements may need adjustment to look and function correctly.
5 – Keyword Relevancy And Competition
This aspect is a killer!
I already explained how you should create content on a specific niche to establish yourself as an authority.
And I’ll repeat it – focusing on one niche is crucial. However, you can still write sub-topics or variations of that niche and use relevant keywords to optimize your content for search engines.
Another part is keyword competition. One of the biggest reasons some websites don’t rank well on search engines is that they target highly competitive keywords.
I know this is a fact because I made the same mistake when I started my blog. After six months of publishing content, I realized that my website was nowhere to be found on Google for most of the search queries related to my niche.
Most of my posts were buried in the third or fourth page of search results. Nobody goes to those pages. Instead, they stick to the first few pages of search results.
For this reason, you want to choose the keywords you’re targeting carefully.
If you have a new website, you want to target low-competition keywords. Sometimes search terms that receive 10 – 50 monthly searches can bring you more traffic than Google Keyword Planner or Semrush suggests.
So here’s what you want to do?
- Ensure your content is relevant and focused on a specific niche to establish yourself as an authority in that area.
- Target low-competition keywords to increase your chances of ranking on the first page of results.
- Leave higher competitive keywords for later once you have established a strong presence in your niche.

6 – Build Quality Backlinks
One of the most effective ways to make your website more visible is to build quality backlinks.
In other words, backlinks are links from other websites that point to your website. This tells Google that your website is valuable and relevant enough to be referenced by other websites, which can increase your search engine ranking.
Note: You want to mainly get backlinks from sites with higher domain authority relevant to your niche.
So how can you build backlinks?
- One of the easiest ways is to start guest posting on other relevant websites. You can outreach to these websites and offer to write a blog post for them. Once you write a post for them, you want to include a link to relevant content on your site.
- Another way is to search for “write for us+niche” on Google to find websites that accept guest postings.
Now I’m going to be honest, getting backlinks is a boring and time-consuming process. You should expect most people not to reply or accept your request. But someone will always say yes, so keep trying and don’t give up!
If you keep doing this, after a few months, you will have a nice collection of backlinks that can significantly boost your website’s visibility and traffic.

7 – Leverage Social Media
Social media is a great way to promote your website further. You can share your content there, interact with your audience, get their feedback and build a community around your brand.
I suggest focusing on one or two social media platforms that are most relevant. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- YouTube: Great for video content. You can share tutorials, reviews, and other informative videos related to your niche.
- Facebook: Good for building a community around your brand. You can share your blog posts, create groups, and interact with your audience through comments and messages.
- Instagram: Idea for visual content. If you’re in the cooking with your audience through comments and messages.
- Linkedin: Ideal for professional networking and B2B. If you have products or services that can help other businesses, this platform can be a good way to connect with them and build partnerships.
You have other platforms. However, these four are the most popular and effective. So, choose the one that suits your niche and focus on building a strong presence there.
8 – Learn SEO
SEO is key to improving your website’s visibility on search engines. This consists of adding keywords to your content and structuring your site so search engines can easily understand.
However, Google has become algorithm has become more complex over the years. Still, there are a few basic SEO strategies that you can implement starting today:
- Add your focus keyword to your URL, title tag, meta description, and the first paragraph of your article.
- Use header tags (H1, H2, etc.) to structure your content and make it easier for search engines to understand. Also, include your focus keyword in your H1 and H2 tags.
- Focus on creating content that replies to people’s search queries and provides value to them.
- Don’t forget to build internal links to your own content and external sources as well.
If you’d like to boost your SEO quickly, I suggest using tools like Scalenut. As I explained, this tool can help you optimize your content for search engines and improve your website’s visibility.
Patience Is The Name Of The Game
When it comes to improving your website visibility, it’s important to remember that it takes time and patience.
Most new website owners fall short by expecting fast results. However, if you’re starting a website, it may take nine or more months of consistently putting out content, and building external links, before you start seeing significant improvements in your website’s visibility.
But the advantage of overcoming this obstacle is that once your website starts gaining traction, it will grow exponentially. Also, you may create a sustainable online business that generates passive income for years.
So don’t give up! While you wait, keep constantly:
- Producing new content. I recommend posting at least twice a week. In fact, the more you publish, the better it is for your website’s visibility.
- Keep outreaching out and building external links. This will help to establish your website’s authority and increase its visibility in search engine results.
- Regularly analyze your website’s traffic and engagement. See the content your audience enjoys the most and try to produce more.
- Always learn more about SEO and content writing, especially if you’re a solo entrepreneur.
With a website, you have a constant supply of work, From regularly producing new content to building external links and analyzing your website’s takes.
Conclusion
Building a website is a fantastic way to make money online. However, most beginners give up after a few months because they don’t see results right away.
If you want to increase your site’s visibility, you need to have patience and put into practice the tips I mentioned earlier. This includes conducting an SEO audit on your existing content, regularly producing new content, building external links, and analyzing your website’s traffic and engagement.
